With over 30 years in education you may be surprised to read that my best times have come while being Headteacher at Caereinion High School. If you are a current or past student of the school or indeed a member of the wider community you would endorse my comment. This is indeed a fabulous school. Come and take a student led tour of the school and have a look at us in action.
One learner said “At other schools you are a number. At Caereinion you are a name!” Caereinion High School is a mixed, bilingual secondary school in Powys with over 500 learners accessing the only truly dual entry provision across the authority. It is the focal point of the local community and a key aspect in bringing together the many different community groups which exist in the area. The school is focused on the individual where we are small enough to care, but big enough to matter. The school plays a strategic role in the development of Welsh medium education across Powys.
During interviews for Senior Prefects, a 6th form learner concluded on how important the school is to the community by saying “I want my school to be more than the big building on the hill.” Indeed, we may not be at the geographical centre of the Valley, but we want to be at the heart of the community.
