Warm congratulations to the pupils who competed last Sunday in the Urdd National Gala in Cardiff. They all did very well and represented the school with pride. The same sense of pride was felt as a number of our pupils competed at the Powys indoor athletics competition. Kiera Mcveagh. Sarah Astley, Cai Heardman, Cian Hanratty, Emma Williams, Liwsi Roberts, Kelsie Webster, Arthur Powell and Ellie Phillips represented the school in the indoor athletics competition on Wednesday and Cian Hanratty, Ellie Phillips, Emma Williams, Liwsi Roberts, Kelsie Webster and Arthur Powell will be representing Powys in the National Indoor Finals.
Year 12 students have been working hard on their Enterprise Challenge for the Welsh Bacc and delivered their presentations during the week. A number of the students are to be congratulated on the standard of their work.
Following on from the work in the Science workshop last Monday, the Science Club did some further work on the theme of dragons during the lunch hour clubs. They looked specifically at fossils this week.
Eager readers in Year 7 have enjoyed attending a weekly book club and are busy preparing recommended reading lists for their peers.
The under 13 girls’ football team played against Ysgol Glan Clwyd during the week, and although they lost their game they played extremely well and gave their opponents a challenging match.
The Music and Drama departments have both started practising for the Urdd Eisteddfod and we look forward to hearing and seeing their performances in the County Eisteddfod at the beginning of March.
