Congratulations to the Sixth Form students and also to the whole school community for raising £700 towards Children in Need. The money was raised primarily by means of a non-uniform day and cake stalls.
Three forms are enjoying the privilege of early lunch passes because of their good attendance. These forms are 7C with 98.8% attendance throughout the first half term (five days’ early lunch); in joint second place were 10C and 11M with 98.5% (three days’ early lunch) and 7H came close at their heels with 98.3% (two days’ early lunch).
The competition is relaunched at the beginning of every half term, therefore keep up the good work in terms of attendance.
Last week was once again a very successful week for our sports teams. Our under 13 team played against Llanfyllin and managed to secure a safe win (Caereinion 35 Llanfyllin 12). The under 14 rugby team are Powys chmapions, with the under 16 boys’ rugby teams securing a second place amongst Powys schools. The under 13 girls’ badminton team gained the title of North Powys champions as did the under 15 boys’ badminton team.
A number of pupils attended a swimming competition on Friday and the results will be included in next week’s blog.
We wish our Year 11 pupils all the best as they prepare for their mock examinations in just over a week’s time. I trust that they are busy revising and making the most of all the resources available to them, including the GCSE Podcasts. Our school’s motto is particularly apt ‘One’s effort is one’s reward’.
