A new term is well under way and Christmas seems in the distant past. As this is the first blog of the new year, I would like to wish you all a happy new year. I trust that 2018 will be a good year for you on a personal level and I sincerely hope that it will be a memorable and successful year for the school. We welcome Mr Derek Kelly as a new member of the Mathematics department and are also pleased to see Mrs Ceri Harris with us on some days. We look forward to her full return to work after the half term holiday.

Whilst year 11 had their mock exams before Christmas, it was year 12 and 13’s turn to sit internal examinations at the beginning of term. We also wish Year 10 well in their examinations. Year 11 received their mock examination results on Thursday, as well as some external examination results. We congratulate those who performed well and trust that those who were disappointed will use the disappointment in a constructive way.

At the beginning of term we look back at every form’s attendance for the previous term. The three forms with the highest attendance percentages for the last half term were:

1st = 7G 98.7% 2nd = 7C 98.2% 3rd = 9B 97.9%

They will be awarded early lunch passes. Congratulations! The new half term presents every form with a new opportunity to compete in the form attendance competition.
