It was good to welcome our primary teacher colleagues to Caereinion High School last Monday, as the KS2/KS3 moderation work took place.

The beginning of term brought further good news, when we were informed that Lizzie Jones, Year 7 had been successful in a Radio 2 500 word competition. There were 140,000 entries and Lizzie has gone on to the next round of 5,000 competitors. We congratulate her on her achievement and also wish her well in the next round.

The snow disrupted our original arrangements for the Senior Citizens’ Tea Party, normally held before Christmas. This is one of the highlights of the school year, therefore we were eager to ensure that the tea party would still take place. On Wednesday, April 11th nearly forty senior citizens enjoyed a feast prepared by the Year 11 Hospitality and Catering class and assisted by some Year 10 pupils, under the guidance of Mrs Ceri Harris. We are also thankful to Mr Osian Davies and Music students who entertained the senior citizens.

A number of Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 students have had oral and practical examinations this week and we wish all our pupils well as they prepare for both practical and written examinations during the next few weeks.

We also congratulate our pupils who competed at the British indoor athletics competition in Manchester during the weekend. They all did well we congratulate them on their achievement. Reaching the finals is no mean feat – well done!
