Two Year 7 pupils, Elain Owen and Tili Lloyd represented the school at a STEM competition in Builth Wells last Monday. Their challenge was to build a car powered by a balloon. Their efforts were well rewarded and they won second prize. Congratulations!

The under 14 rugby team played against Ysgol Botwnnog and secured a clear victory – Botwnnog 22 Caereinion 33. Man of the match was Huw Evans, with William Lydford scoring three tries and Cian Hanratty and Arthur Powell scoring a try each. We wish the team well as they proceed to the next round, the Welsh quarter finals.

The under 16 girls’ hockey team played very well against Christ College Brecon and gave the victorious team a very challenging time. The final score was 3-2, with Moli Morgan scoring both goals for Caereinion.

Congratulations to the fifteen pupils from Caereinion who have secured a place in the Powys team which will be competing in a national cross country competition.

Year 10 Drama GCSE class spent an enjoyable and amusing evening at the theatre in Shrewsbury on Wednesday, when they went to see John Godber’s comedy ‘Teechers’.

Mr Tudor Jones, Head of Science, visited Ysgol Dyffryn Banw on Friday. The primary school pupils spent an enjoyable and informative time learning about the nervous system. We wish our Year 9 pupils well as they sit exams this week.
