For the second time this winter, school life was disrupted by heavy snow. Before the arrival of the inclement weather, on Monday, our years 7,8 and 9 hockey teams participated in a North Powys hockey tournament and were very successful. Year 7 team drew two games and lost two, but played extremely well, with Awel Jones being the top scorer. Year 8 team reached the finals and beat Welshpool A team 2 goals to 1 – top scorer Carys Gittins. The under 14 team were also victorious and won the title of ‘North Powys under 14 champions’. Congratulations to the team and to Lauren Bellison- Hodge as the top scorer. A special thank you is also extended to three sixth form girls who played a very important role on the day. Our plans to celebrate Saint David’s Day and World Book Day were unfortunately hampered by school closure on March 1st. Our congratulations are extended to Gruff Evans, Steffan Evans, Cai Herdman, Rhys Jones, Dylan Nutting and Callum Pratten who have been chosen as ball boys in the forthcoming Under 20 rugby match Wales v. Italy. We wish them well and trust that their experience in Parc Eirias will be both memorable and valuable.
